The School was started by Pioneer Corps Training Centre on 11 Oct 1976. It was taken over by Parachute Regiment Training Centre on 15th April 1992 and renamed as Cosmos Wing of Parachute Regiment School. On PRS becoming Army Public School, PRTC the Cosmos Wing of the PRS has been segregated and functions as Shatrujeet Army Pre Primary School (SAPPS) with effect from 1st April 2012, as an independent school under the management of Parachute Regiment Training Centre.
